The Winter Package, mainly for the electric field, includes commitments to reduce CO2 emissions, to give priority to energy efficiency and to put Europe at the forefront in renewable energy, not forgetting the role of the consumer in this transition process as a decision maker in energy matters.
The inauguration of the conference was attended by
Raimundo Pérez-Hernández y Torra, Director of the
Areces Foundation;
Gonzalo Sáenz de Miera, President of the AEEE;
Borja Prado, President of Enerclub and Daniel Navia, Secretary of State for Energy, Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda.
A roundtable discussion was held with business experts and industry associations, discussing the implications for Spain the Winter Package of the European Commission. They agreed to emphasize the need to combine economic development with the obligation to do it in an environmentally acceptable way, and in particular to emit less greenhouse gases.
The closing of the day also included representatives of companies and institutions of the sector, among them the Vice President of Enerclub, Miguel Antoñanzas.
